Owner Raj Ranith plans to open his second store around Nov. 15 (ish). With a large Bergen County clientele already, he wanted to offer the same quality and service to an area he felt needed a nicer store.
"I was waiting for an opportunity in Bergen," he said. "And so am excited to be able to say we will open soon."
The whole idea behind his liquor emporium is to offer a huge variety of wines and liquors at affordable prices. He is also big into tastings -- there are tastings every Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.and Saturdays from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. -- as well as events that benefit charities.
On opening day he plans to do a tasting event with a portion of proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
Ranith, who lives in Suffern, practically grew up in the liquor business. His father for years had stores in India as well as a place in Fishkill.
The new LiquorLand is at 8 Franklin Turnpike. For now, go to www.liquorlandrockland.com/ for more information.
